Do NOT share, distribute, request illegal copies, download via hardware or the internet, steal from a licensed user or re-sell Colophon Foundry fonts. We ask that licensees of our fonts respect our EULA and the amount of work that has gone into producing the font software.

Some of our fonts are embedded with unique glyphs or codes which are assigned to a specific licensed name/user. We reserve the right to use this as proof of purchase.

By purchasing our software, the end-user (eg. You) agrees to the following license agreement, as drawn up by us (eg. Colophon Foundry).

The main points of our font license are as follows:

– We believe our pricing strategy is accessible for all. Our fonts are individually priced relating to their designer, use and availability. We reserve the right to increase and decrease prices of font software as we see suitable. Some typefaces are limited from 50–500, if not stated the font will be distributed in an unlimited quantity. We also reserve the right to charge VAT on purchases.

– Purchased fonts will remain copyright to Colophon Foundry and their creators.

– If Colophon Foundry software is misplaced or stolen from a licensed user, we will happily replace the fonts to the licensee. The licensee must give the full registered name and email address which matches from the previous transaction. We reserve the right to not re-supply font software we think is being used for illegal purposes.

– Purchase of a font is for a single user. The purchase of a font makes the buyer a licensed user of the font, not an owner. The font may be loaded on to a maximum of 3 personal computers belonging to the same person or organization at a single location. Font licences are non-transferrable and are licensed to the original buyer unless previously agreed. Multi-user licenses are available via the website, please ensure that you have the appropriate license for the number of computers the font software is installed on.

– Fonts are allowed to be passed onto a pre-press service or printer for output only. Contractors are not allowed to actively create new documents with fonts that have been passed on for output only. If any modification is to be made by a non-licensee then a license must be purchased.

– Unfortunately, we cannot offer returns or exchanges on our fonts due to their digital nature, unless the product is defective – in this case, we are happy to give technical assistance. Please contact us for support.

– Embedding of the Colophon Foundry font software in other software or devices or in any other form whatsoever requires the purchase of a special license and shall be governed by a separate license agreement. Please contact us to discuss.

– We currently offer a selection of our fonts for usage online through Fontdeck. Other independent technologies such as sIFR, @font-face, cufon or any other online on-the-fly rendering are prohibited. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further.

– Selling, lending or hiring font software is strictly prohibited.

– We do not allow modification to our fonts. You must contact us and discuss this as a bespoke project.

– Although every effort has been taken to check these fonts for viruses, in no circumstance what-so-ever do we take responsibility for damage caused to user’s hardware, software or a loss of income that may have occurred as a result. All Colophon Foundry installed is done so at the owners risk and we, Colophon Foundry, will not be held responsible.

– Any breach of the terms of this Agreement shall be cause for termination. In the event of termination, if applicable, you agree to immediately return the Font Software to Colophon Foundry and certify that no copy remains in your possession or control.

– We will pursue with legal action if you are found to be using our fonts illegally.

– We reserve the right to update our license agreement, at any time without prior consent or notice. Please check this agreement regularly.
